The owners of City Parts, Glen and Donna Ford, started with Central Wreckers located in the Brisbane inner city suburb of Windsor in 1982. Central was an all makes all models dismantler, in the ensuing years a second yard was established as a specialist dismantler. After trying a few different makes and models Commodore Wreckers was born. Around this time Glen’s brothers had bought Pick-A-Part located at Zillmere, the Pick-A-Part site was divided up with 4 businesses located on the site. Glen and Donna moved Commodore to Zillmere in the early 1990’s. Over the next 5-6 years Glen and Donna bought Mitsubishi Wrecking, Ford Wreck and Pick-A-Part which were all located at the Zillmere site. Wreckers City was then formed with 5 specialist sites covering 6 brands. Mitsubishi, Ford, Holden (Commodore Wreckers), Toyota (Central), Nissan and Mazda (Pick-A-Part).
